The Select Board and "others present" hiked the Crown Point Road from the Grout Cemetery on Plains Cemetery Road to the crossing of the North Branch of the Black River. The group turned around at the river, and hiked back to where the cars were parked at the Grout Cemetery.

Next the group drove to the Army Corps trailhead parking area on Branch Brook Road, then hiked south on the Crown Point Road to the crossing of the North Branch of the Black River. The group did not cross the river.

The purpose of the hike was to observe the Crown Point Road for the purpose of deciding whether to reclassify it from a Class 4 Town highway to a Trail. Photos were taken illustrating the characteristics of the different sections of this trail. The hike was lead by Steve Aikenhead. The trail was well marked with blue blazes except where it crossed the land owned by Bruce Murray through his gravel pit. One of the original Crown Point Road markers was viewed near where the trail crosses the river.

The hike began at 6:00 PM and ended at 7:30 PM.
