Self-Storage Facility
Amend Section 8 Definitions by adding: Self-Storage Facility: A building or group of buildings containing separate, individual, and private storage spaces available for lease or rent for the purpose of dead storage only and which are not accessory structures to residential uses.
Amend Section 4.3.2(f) Highway Commercial by adding: Self-Storage Facility (Site plan Review; General/Special Provisions; Certificate of Occupancy) as both an accessory and a principal permitted use
Amend Section 4.3.2(g) Industrial by adding: Self-Storage Facility (Site plan Review; General/Special Provisions; Certificate of Occupancy) as both an accessory and a principal permitted use
Amend Section 7 Special Provisions by adding: Section 7.23 Self-Storage Facility The following special provisions apply to self-storage facilities: • Auctions (conducted by lessees or renters), wholesale, or resale sales; or miscellaneous or garage sales are prohibited at self-storage facilities. • Auctions conducted by the facility manager are allowed, but only for the purpose of foreclosure. • The storage of flammable or hazardous chemicals and explosives is prohibited. Flammable and hazardous chemicals and explosives shall be as defined by the US Dept. of Transportation. • Dedicated vehicular parking space is not required for this use. • Residential provisions for on-site management are allowed as an accessory use subject to water/wastewater disposal accommodations.
