Zoning Board of Adjustment August 26, 2009 Meeting Minutes
I. Roll Call: Board members present at the meeting were Chairman Graham Hunter, David Gulbrandsen, Westley Hazeltine, and Ted Goddard. Land Use Administrator deForest Bearse was also present.
In the audience was Brad McAvoy. Chairman Hunter opened the meeting at 7:00.
II. Additions & Corrections: There were none.
III. Approval of Minutes: August 12, 2009 David Gulbrandsen made a motion to move approval of the minutes to the bottom of the agenda. Ted Goddard seconded it. All were unanimous to move approval of the minutes to the bottom of the agenda.

IV. Public Hearings: A. #08.0609 by Vtrans for construction of a salt shed at 638 Route 131 Chairman Hunter opened the hearing by reading the Notice of Public Hearing at 7:02. The Board members had no conflict of interest or exparte communication. deForest Bearse and Brad McAvoy affirmed. deForest Bearse stated that this was referred to the Zoning Board because it is State owned property. By State law they have to cover their salt supply to avoid erosion. It meets the setback and size requirements. Brad McAvoy showed the Board pictures of the proposed shed (64 feet by 40 feet by 27 feet) and the area around it. There is an existing salt shed there now. The current sand pile will be distributed to area towns. There will be an exposed concrete wall. They will be able to drive around the proposed building. The height to peak is 27 feet. The new building will go onto the fire department land, but the fire department leases the land from the State.

VII. Other Business: (a) Amend Rules of Procedure Westley Hazeltine made a motion to adopt the amended wording for the Rules of Procedure. Ted Goddard seconded it. All were unanimous.
VII. Adjournment: Westley Hazeltine made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:32. Ted Goddard seconded it. All were unanimous to adjourn.
