Conservation Commission meeting minutes 6-3-2010

June 3, 2010 Conservation Commission Minutes 1. Meetings will be on the first Thursday of each month at the Proctor Library in Ascutney at 7:00pm. Members present: Gary Pelton, chairman, Chris Harris, George Ainley and MaryBeth Reville, secretary The meeting was called to order at 7:pm. The minutes of the May 6th meeting were accepted. Plans are being made for a workshop on invasive plants. It is tentatively planned for Aug. 10th or 12th from 6 to 8 pm. MaryBeth will check concerning the availability of Martin Memorial Hall for one of those dates. The workshop will cover the identification of plants that are in our area during late summer and fall and methods of eradication. Gary will prepare a press release and Chris will ask his wife, Sally, to notify the local papers. Chris is also planning to talk with Edith Hunter about mentioning this on her VPR commentary. It was suggested that Melissa Snyder be asked to put a notice on the town website. Posters will be put several places in town-the post offices, town office, library, store at Downer's four corners, Ascutney market and the Red Barn. The meeting was adjourned at 8pm.
