Veterans Memorial Committee Meeting Minutes October 28, 2008 Committee Members Present: Chip Cobb Bob Dickenson Aaron Fitzherbert deForest Bearse Lisa Sargent Fred Mellish Edith Stillson Approve minutes from the last two meetings: September 30, 2008 Lisa Sargent motioned to approve the minutes of the September 30, 2008 meeting as presented.  Edith Stillson seconded the motion and all were in favor. Funds Drive Activities 1st Annual “Fall Into Weathersfield (Chicken Barbeque) Profit from the barbeque  was $711.69.  Lisa Sargent made a motion to authorize deForest to submit Liberty Beef’s bill for payment of an amount not to exceed $267.74.  Fred Mellish seconded the motion and all were in favor.  Lisa gave the proceeds from the barbeque to deForest to deposit into the Veterans Memorial account. LLBean Gift Wrapping Corporate headquarters told Lisa that the Veterans Memorial committee does not qualify for their fundraiser. The actual qualifications are unknown.  Chip offered to follow up on it. Macoma Savings Bank Foundation The Committee asked deForest to contact the Foundation for information about applying for a $1,000 grant. Christmas for our Troops The committee has received many donations - mainly school supplies for children.  We also have $200 is cash for postage.  The committee will box up the items received after the meeting and Chip and Lisa will get it shipped on Saturday.  The items should arrive in three weeks. Comments from attendees Still no word back from either the Perkinsville Church (regarding ownership of the green) or the Weathersfield Bow Association (regarding transfer of the Association’s property to the Town). Next meeting date selection The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008. at 7:00 PM in the Town Office.
