Veteran's Memorial Committee 1-26-2010

Weathersfield Veterans Memorial Committee Meeting January 26, 2010 Meeting Minutes Members Present: Chip Cobb  Bob Dickenson Jeff Slade Edith Stillson Lisa Sargent Aaron Fitzherbert 1.     Chip Cobb called the meeting to order at 7:00PM. 2.     Chip says he’s been told we can start spending now.  Aaron has revised the drawing and will work on numbers now.  His guess at this time is we may spend $12,000 on the cutting.  (low as $8,000) The cutter wants two-thirds of $8,000 up front ($5,400). Balance due when job is done.  They are ready to start anytime.  Aaron talked to Joe Graves and he is going to see if Gurney Brothers will do the hauling.  (He is friends with Brad Gurney.) Chip told Aaron he has not seen an itemized invoice from Dan.  He’ll email him (after checking with Town Office). It was consensus to have “slabs” cut to use as benches if there is enough material left. Aaron said the cutters have drawings and everything is ready. Jeff Slade made a motion to approve the sketch dated 12/1/2009 and expend no more than $12,000 for the cutting.  Bob seconded the motion, which passed with no dissent. Chip will ask to go on the Select Board agenda to discuss our plan and let them know we’ll be starting to spend funds. Aaron will work on proposal and forward to Chip via email.  He will ask for one- third up front, one-third when “done”, and one-third when the project is complete and memorial is “installed”. Chip will talk with Jeremy Osgood about doing cement work. Jeff Slade made the motion to adjourn.  Edith Stillson seconded the motion, which passed without dissent at 7:47 PM.
