Truck Driver/Laborer PDF Print E-mail

The Town of Weathersfield is seeking a qualified individual to perform maintenance and/or repairs on the Town’s roads, operating a variety of heavy equipment and trucks, and performs a number of laboring and semi-skilled tasks as required, working under the direction of the Town Highway Superintendent.

Applicants should have a Vermont CDL-B license [or be able to obtain a Vermont CDL2 license within 3 (three) months of hire], and participation in a random drug and alcohol-testing program is required before driving vehicles or operating equipment.  Duties require the ability to work in extreme outdoor weather conditions. Employees must be available for considerable overtime during heavy snowfall or other emergencies. Dangers are present when work is performed near heavy equipment, hazardous materials, and roadside litter.  Employees must be able to use tools and lift materials commonly used in routine maintenance work.

The Town of Weathersfield, Vermont (pop. 2,842) seeks a responsible, collaborative, and dynamic manager to serve as its chief administrative officer. Located in south-central Vermont, Weathersfield is a historic town with a strong tradition of civic engagement. Its covered bridges and the recreational opportunities of Mount Ascutney and the Connecticut River are only a short drive from Boston, New York, and Montreal.
The manager reports to a five-member selectboard and is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Town, and specific duties for the Village of Perkinsville and Ascutney Fire District No. 2.
The manager supervises 30 full-time and part-time employees, administers a $2.17 million operating budget, and oversees all personnel, financial, public works, and community-relations matters.
