Hi Fit Group

If you think you missed the free introduction to Belly Dance Fusion class, you still have a chance to try it out. Below is a description, could be a good workout. If we like it perhaps we would schedule 4 weeks, if not we can discuss other ideas.

The few who did show up last night went on a 2 mile "walk and talk" and discussed other fitness options. Unfortunately, instructors are limited and it seems everyone is interested in keeping the momentum of Joni's kick boxing class going. So...I am looking for your ideas. I am willing to schedule a Power Walk, mornings or evenings or both, we could use Upper Falls Road which has little vehicle traffic and few hills, ideal for challenging yourself to pick up the speed while maintaining good posture. We also could add some strength exercises: squats, cross over sit ups, and push ups - we'd make Joni proud. Also, BJ Esty could guide us in Nordic Walking, which uses poles (can be sized to any height) to limit joint impact while engaging core muscles.

Please email me your thoughts, interest, and days and times you're available - at the very least we can hook people up with neighbors with similar schedules for walking buddies.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Please RSVP to this upcoming FREE fit class by Tuesday June 24th:

Belly Dance Fusion for Fitness Class Thursday June 26th 6:45 to 8:00 pm Perkinsville Elementary School

Come explore the ancient art form of belly dance. Belly dance dates back thousands of years with the exact origin unknown. The dance is primarily composed of isolation's, including undulations, circles, and figure-eights of hands, arms, shoulders, torso, abdomen, and hips it also incorporates shimmies of the hips and shoulders. In this class we will begin with belly dance basics, including slow isolated warm ups, combined with yoga. We will then shift into the fitness-fusion part of the class which will include a 30 minute cardio workout using sequences of movements which incorporate world dance, martial arts and modern dance. The cool down period will include gentle stretching and a time for relaxation to incorporate the movements into the body. No experience necessary. Come ready to dance. For all ages and abilities.

Wear comfortable clothes, bring a water bottle.

Nathalie Lindgren class teacher, studied belly dance for 8 years under various teachers. She then began taking yoga classes, NIA classes and other occasional movement classes. Her love of dance, personal transformation and desire to empower women lead her to offering movement classes. The classes are a fusion of what she loves, with space for your own inner growth.
