The Weathersfield Veterans Memorial Committee would like to thank all the organizations and people that have provided support in our effort to construct a Veterans Memorial for the town of Weathersfield, Vermont. Over the past two years, we have received donations of money; and supplies, food products and drinks for several funds raising events. We appreciate this support.
Now, a big struggle for us is to gather enough money to begin the stone cutting phase of our project. You probably remember that we have identified some boulders found near the base of Mount Ascutney that we plan to remove and transport to a Vermont quarry for the initial “shaping cut.†This first step is expensive.
We appreciate all the cash contributions that we have received to date, and we are getting close to the amount needed to begin this most worthy project to recognize those that have served, and are serving our Nation. We would like to thank Dorianne Lescord from the Ascutney Country Hair Salon, the Connecticut River Bank, the Claremont Savings Bank Foundation, and the Chittenden Bank of Windsor for their cash contributions. Thank you very much!
As with most volunteer efforts, we need help. And today we need help in raising more money. If you are motivated to donate or participate, please contact me at candlcobb@vermontel.net, or the Town Offices at 802-674-2626.
