TOWN OF WEATHERSFIELD, VERMONT ANNUAL TOWN MEETING Articles 1 through 9 were voted on the floor of the Town Meeting on Monday night - all articles PASSED. Article 1: Shall the voters of the Town of Weathersfield accept the reports of the Town's officers for the period from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008? Article 2: Shall the voters of the Town of Weathersfield authorize the Select Board to borrow money, if necessary, to pay current expenses in anticipation of taxes in accordance with the provisions of Title 24, Section 1786, of the Vermont Statutes Annotated? Article 3: Shall the voters of the Town of Weathersfield authorize the Select Board to expend such grant monies, gifts, or bequests which may be received by the Town of Weathersfield, in accordance with the terms of said grants, gifts, or bequests? Article 4: Shall the voters of the Town of Weathersfield establish an "Aid to Residents in Need" reserve fund pursuant to Title 24, Section 2804 (a), of the Vermont Statutes Annotated, to be used by the Town Service Officer, with the approval of the Select Board, to provide relief and assistance to needy Weathersfield residents? Article 5: Shall the voters of the Town of Weathersfield exempt from Town property taxation the land and buildings owned by the Connecticut River Grange, located at Map No. 5A, Block No. 02, Parcel No. 04.00, for a period of five (5) years in accordance with the provisions of Title 32, Section 3840, of the Vermont Statutes Annotated? Article 6: Shall the voters of the Town of Weathersfield exempt from Town property taxation the land and buildings owned by the Hawks Mountain Grange, located at Map No. 07, Block No. 02, Parcel No. 53.00, for a period of five (5) years in accordance with the provisions of Title 32, Section 3840, of the Vermont Statutes Annotated? Article 7: Shall the voters of the Town of Weathersfield require that a petition for reconsideration or rescission shall be signed by not less than ten percent (10%) of the registered voters of the Town, in accordance with Title 17, Section 2661 (b), of the Vermont Statutes Annotated? Article 8: To transact any other business deemed proper when met.
Voting by Australian ballot in Martin Memorial Hall, on the third day of March, 2009, to act on the following articles: Article 9: To elect all Town officers as required by law. HUNTER, II 462 YES 298 Article 11: Shall the voters of the Town of Weathersfield approve the expenditure of Nine Hundred Ninety-two Thousand, One Hundred Thirty-one Dollars ($992,131.00), for the support and operation of the Town's Highway Fund? Eight Hundred One Thousand, Six Hundred Thirty-six Dollars ($801,636.00) shall be raised by property taxation, allowing the Select Board to set the appropriate tax rate. [By Australian ballot] YES 296 Article 12: Shall the voters of the Town of Weathersfield approve the expenditure of Two Hundred Forty-nine Thousand, Eight Hundred Seventy Dollars ($249,870.00), for the support and operation of the Town's solid waste management facility? These monies shall be raised by the collection of fees, allowing the Select Board to set the appropriate fees for the services. [By Australian ballot] YES 258 Article 16: Shall the voters of the Town of Weathersfield authorize the Select Board to borrow funds not to exceed the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for a period not to exceed two (2) years for the purpose of constructing and equipping an equipment storage building on the Town-owned property in Weathersfield Bow? This building will be used for on-site storage of heavy equipment at the Weathersfield Bow Sand Pit. S.E.V.C.A. is a community service organization that assists Weathersfield in responding to the emergency needs of the community and providing all available and applicable services. V.A.L., a member of the Statewide adult education and literacy system called "Learning Works,'‘ is an educational non-profit organization which serves individuals, aged sixteen (16) years and older, who are out of school and in need of basic reading, writing, and math skills, G.E.D. preparation, English as a second language, adult diploma program, basic computer skills instruction, work readiness programming, preparation for college, and G.E.D. testing. The V.A.B.V.I. is a private not-for-profit agency providing comprehensive vision rehabilitation, training and support services for visually impaired Vermonters of all ages. Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice is a community service agency providing home health, maternal and child health, and hospice care provided in patients' homes and community settings. SCHOOL DISTRICT OF WEATHERSFIELD, VERMONT ANNUAL MEETING Articles 1 through 3 and 5 were voted on the floor of the meeeting on Monday night. All articles PASSED. Article 1. To act on the reports of the School District Officers for the period from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008. Article 5. To transact any other business which may properly come before the meeting Article 4. School Budget Question #1: Shall the voters of the Weathersfield School District approve a total budget in the amount of $5,605,292, which includes the Maximum Inflation Amount of education spending for the year beginning July 1, 2009?
