WENTWORTH GRANTED THE CHARTER FOR THE TOWN OF WEATHERSFIELD.

ON AUGUST 20, 2011 THE TOWN CELEBRATES THE 250TH ANNIVERSARY OF
THE CHARTERING OF OUR TOWN.

To commemorate the event the Town is planning a gala day of events around the Center Meeting House. Parade, races, all-day live music, games, food, and other events for children and adults. Best of all a fireworks display that evening.

Commemorative posters, post cards, and tee shirts are available at the Town Office

• 8:30 Weathersfield Center Meetinghouse: Fun Run for Kids (1/2 mile)
• 9:00  Weathersfield Center Meetinghouse 5 K (3.1 mile) run (for all) (prizes for winners) Registration Form
• 12:00 Horse Shoe Tournament / Sign up at Town Office, Wyman Agency Office, Downer's Store, Ascutney Market, Perkinsville Post Office at Downer's, or email demeeagles@hotmail.com / Must be a Weathersfield Resident / Three Divisions:  Men, Women, All Children 12 and Under
  
• 1:00    Parade (including Grafton Cornet Band, and Shriners Clown Unit)
  Following the Parade: Opening Ceremony with music and VIPs (Center Meeting House)
• 2:00–5:00   Workshops for kids, contests, informational booths, demonstrations, tee-shirt making Recreational events: games, horseshoe tournament, ultimate frisbee tournament, horse demonstrations (for kids and adults) Music, food of all kinds
  Art show and quilt show (inside Meeting House)
  Rev. Dan Foster House (Historical Society Museum) open
  Weathersfield history pageant, written for the occasion and staged by Weathersfield students
• 3:00 Following the Pageant: Cake Quilt judging, then cake and ice cream for all
• 6:00–8:00 Chicken BBQ & corn on the cob
  Dancing: music provided by “Sensible Shoes”
• 8:30    Gala Fireworks Finale
