HOISINGTON FIELD

DAMAGED BY VANDALS

On Saturday night, September 17, Hoisington Field was once again severely damaged by a vehicle "doing donuts" on the field. Due to this vandalism and to similar vandalism earlier this summer, Hoisington Field has been rendered unusable for organized athletic activities until at least next spring.

Weathersfield Police Chief Richard Brown is requesting that anyone who may have seen any suspicious behavior in the Perkinsville area or anywhere else in town on Saturday night to contact him (674-2185), as it is possible that whoever did this was "cruising around looking for trouble."

BJ Esty is heading up the effort to recruit a large group of volunteers to repair the field beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 1st. Volunteers should bring wheelbarrows, rakes, and shovels. BJ can be reached at the Weathersfield School (674-5400) or at home (263-9651).
